- After 15 minutes (or some lentils types might take 5-10 minutes more) add a handful of cracked wheat or rice after you rinse it, cumin, salt and the fried onion along with its oil
- You can then add another cup or two of water if all the water you’ve added first has already gone.
- Leave for another 15 minutes and keep mixing every 3 minutes until you get this texture like in the photo below
