The ingredients needed to make Khichdi Muthia:
  1. Get 2 cups Leftover Khichdi
  2. Get 1/2 cup Gram Flour / Besan
  3. Make ready 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour / Atta
  4. Prepare 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirchi
  5. Make ready 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder / Dhaniya
  7. Get 1/2 tsp Salt
  8. Take as required Water
  9. Make ready For Tempering :
  10. Get 1 1/2 tsp Sesame Seeds / Til
  11. Take 3 tablespoons Oil
  12. Take 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Rai

Steps to make Khichdi Muthia:
  1. In a mixing bowl, take 2 cups of leftover Khichdi and remove Peanuts if present in Khichdi.
  2. Then add ½ cup of Gram Flour (Besan), ½ cup of Whole Wheat Flour (Atta), 1 tsp of Red Chilli Powder, ½ tsp of Garam Masala, ½ tsp of Coriander Powder (Dhaniya) and ½ tsp of Salt in mixing bowl and mix well.
  3. Add water as required and knead just like a dough.
  4. Grease your hands with Oil and make cylindrical rolls as shown in video.
  5. Preheat the steamer for 5 to 7 mins and place the cylindrical Muthia rolls into steamer.
  6. Steam the Khichdi Muthia for 10 min on low medium flame.
  7. After 10 mins remove the rolls and allow it to cool down completely.
  8. Now cut the rolls into ½ inch Muthia and keep aside.
  9. Furthermore, take a nonstick pan, add 3 tablespoons of oil into it and allow Oil to heat nicely.
  10. Then add 1 tsp of Mustard Seeds (Rai), 1 ½ tsp of Sesame Seeds (Til) and place the Khichdi Muthiyas into pan and roast for 5 – 7 min from one side.
  11. Now flip over the Muthiyas and roast from the other side for 5 – 7 mins.
  12. Khichdi Muthia is now ready to serve with Tomato Ketchup.
